The grapes for our Durva Via Shiraz are sourced from the Northern Barossa Ranges of St. Kitts. The fruit is de-stemmed and whole berry fermented over ten to fifteen days in open fermenters, and then carefully basket pressed.
Intense deep crimson-purple hues that are almost ink like in appearance, typical of quality Shiraz of the furthermost northern Barossa vineyards. The aromas of berry fruit and fresh floral notes burst from the glass.
The palate is truly allured as our wine offers rich full-bodied fruit characters that linger with intensity. Balanced fruit and acidity structure give a luscious generosity that we have come to love and expect from Barossa Shiraz.
Maturation in new and seasoned oak for 24 months has resulted in a wine that is rich and textural on the palate. It finishes with smooth and velvety soft rounded tannins. Upon release, our Dura Via Shiraz is best to be decanted and left for at least 1 hour before enjoying.
Our Dura Via Shiraz can be enjoyed as a youthful wine. Correct cellaring will ensure that it ages gracefully, rewarding those who chose to cellar some for time over the next two decades.
